    HHRC Partnership

HHRC works in partnership with local and state government representatives, affordable housing advocates and producers, local lending institutions, human service providers and interested citizens within Hancock County.  It builds on the history and experience of the Hancock County Housing One-Stop (a program of the Hancock County Community Development Foundation) and the Hancock County Long-Term Recovery Committee.

The HHRC has also implemented a partnership with the Gulf Coast Community Design Studio ("GCCDS") which is a project of Mississippi State University's School of Architecture.  GCCDS provides design assistance to low income households seeking to rebuild.  The projects are designed through close relationships with the residents and HHRC staff, and the work reflects a priority on preserving the dignity of individuals. GCCDS has a full-time staff of eight, as well as regular volunteers, both architects and architectural school students. GCCDS has an on-site studio in Biloxi, and opened another studio at HHRC in November, 2008.
